The film has been mired in controversy since quite some time. Its' being said that Gurmeet has made this film for his own propaganda. Various Sikh groups demanded a ban on it. Earlier titled MSG: The Messenger of God, the film was even re-titled as MSG: The Messenger before it was cleared by the Censor Board.
As they say, any publicity is good publicity. Twinkle's inclination to see the film is perhaps the result of nothing but the publicity which the film derived from the controversies shrouding it.
